Movies
If civilization ended, but we still had stuff like video cameras and electrical outlets, I feel like I’d spend my days just making movies. That probably says a lot about my course in life and perhaps I should do something about that.
But until then, though, please enjoy what I’ve made so far.
My uncle and grandpa lived together for many years and were quite the duo. I wanted to make a movie to commemorate the quirks and beauties of their relationship. My grandpa passed about a year after this, so it was especially meaningful.
So… I volunteered at this garden in the Upper West Side. It was beautiful and well-kept. I learned there’s a Japanese woman who comes every morning at 5am by herself to tend the garden and beautify it. This is Chizu, a former artist in Japan who found great purpose in the garden.
In 2020, a captain and his crew set out for a most daring adventure: sailing underneath the Melbourne Bridge, without a motor. (The captain is my dad, the crew is me and my sister).
Would you like to see the first documentary I ever made? Bear with me… it’s about Beverly Taylor, an acupressurist living in the small coastal Mexican village of Yelapa. Enjoy, then go touch some pressure points.
